reaches for tomorrow with each candle of life and touches the stars for

SpringFest Earth Day
THE STUDENT MUSEUM’S SPRINGFEST 2004 The fifth annual
Spring Fest-Earth Day promises to be a wonderful and unique event for
Seminole County. Spring Fest will be Saturday, April 17, 2004, from
10:00am to 3:00pm at the Seminole County Student Museum. We are located at
301 West 7th St. (2 blocks east of 17-92 between Elm and Myrtle Ave.)
Highlights of the SpringFest include musical entertainment, plant and
craft vendors, exhibits, pioneer craft demonstrators, food, garden tours,
student entertainment, and historical re-enactors. There will also be
presentations on butterfly gardening and antique roses. The seeds of
SpringFest were planted in 1989 when the City of Sanford began a poplar
tree give-away program in honor of Earth Day. In recent years, the city,
Seminole County Public School Student Museum and the Seminole County
Extension office established a partnership to produce a festival that
combines spring season garden events, entertainment, community history and
Earth Day. Earth Day is an annual worldwide event to promote a healthy

The All-American Soap Box Derby is a youth gravity
racing program for boys and girls ages 8-17. Races are held monthly from
September - May in Sandford's Derby Park, the only one of its kind in the
Southerstern U.S. Sanford is a three-time winner of the "Champs Choice
Award" for best race city in the past three years. Since 1934 the goals of
the program have been to promote family unity , teach basic workmanship
