Your Captain provides
narration about local and river history, along with the

the cruises. The vessel, The Native II, was specially designed
to play the shallow backwaters of the St. Johns River. The
quiet and smooth operation of the Native II allows you
to hear the sounds of nature as they surround you. The average
cruising speed is 6 miles per hour, so nothing passes by
too fast and frequent stops are made for photographs and
points of interest.

off State Road 46 East of Sanford on the St. Johns River.
More than just an airboat ride, the tour allows time to
enjoy the river/airboat experience. Passengers travel the
shallow sloughs and backwaters in a swift, but comfortable
and safe manner with Captain Bill Daniel, a conservationist
and river historian.
A
tour is 1 and 1/2 hours, including a stop on the shore of
the St. Johns River. Tours allow time to better enjoy a
feel of the airboat/river experience. A ride is intended
to last just inside an hour. During a ride, the airboats and
being in the outdoors and on the water is the adventure.

Lake Jessup. Ten thousand acres large and over 100,000 years
old, Lake Jessup flows directly into the St. Johns River.
It is home to some of Florida's most unique wildlife. See
beautiful foliage, alligators, eagles, osprey, and many
types of wildlife in their natural habitat. Lake Jessup is
anthropologically rich
and has been researched by at least 3 major universities.
Don't forget your camera, Lake Jessup has the highest population
of alligators of any lake in Florida. It is sure to be a

Located
on the Wekiva River, Katie's Landing offers canoe rentals,
log cabin rentals and 54 campsites, as well as RV hookups.
Canoe trips are downstream, with the current, leisurely
day trips on the Wekiva River and its tributaries. The upper
portion of the Wekiva enjoys an aquatic preserve designation
and outstanding Florida waters. The entire 16 miles is a
Florida State Canoe Trail and the lower basin has been state
designated Scenic and Wild.
If
this is your first canoeing adventure, the crew at Katie's
will offer a few pointers to make it more enjoyable. These
trips allow you to spend a portion of a day or the entire
day on the river picnicking, swimming, fishing and taking
photos, or you can spend just the time it takes to paddle
from point to point.

have expanded their business to include boat rental and
Waverunner rentals. They are located at Monroe Harbour Marina
in Sanford just across the parking lot from The Romance.
Skyline
Watersports rents Bow Riders and cuddy cabin runabouts for
cruising or skiing as well as 24-foot pontoon boats powered
by efficient and quiet Honda four stroke engines.
Jet
Skis - Also for rent are new Waverunner Jet Skis available
by the hour or the half-hour. Runabouts rent by the half

Wekiwa
Springs State Park has almost 6,900 acres of wild scenery
that offer an opportunity to see how central Florida looked
when the Timicuan Indians speared fish in the spring-fed
creeks and stalked deer in the uplands. Canoe rentals are
available and a concession provide refreshments. Picnic
area, playground and family camping area provide electric
and water hook-ups, restroom and dump station. A primitive
camping area is available for youth groups. Group camp with
cabins, meeting hall and dining facility can be used by
groups engaged in conservation of environmental activities.
For the more adventurous, two backpacking campsites are
located along 13 miles of hiking trail.
